Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention.

The history and its significance to the society.


in the class, lecturer mentioned that what is creative.
and told us Creativity is a mental process involving the discovery of new ideas or concepts, 
or new associations of the existing ideas or concepts, 
fueled by the process of either conscious or unconscious insight,
he show an example with holding a stick of stainless steel,
he could transform it into golf, crutches, baseball bat, and etc.
we should learnt to be more alert when thinking
for being creative we need to be "multi"thinking
sometimes simple thing can be creative too.


today class, i realised many thing that i always neglected
i always think of something with oli one way
maybe i could get more ideas if i always reminding myself
to do my brainstorming with more smart ways.
because of this lesson, i learnt the way to do smart brainstorming
and
i found the reason why i reached my limit of CREATIVE
and i get all the problem solved with one solution
really appreciate this lesson and what i learnt.

Novelty

Novelty definition from (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novelty) stated that the quality of being new, although it may be said to have an objective dimension (such as abstract art or impression) it essentially exist in the subjective perception of individual.

In my point of view, novelty means something new or unusual.Novelty is important for everybody in this world.
The study of creativity that is based on the presumption of novelty aims to reveal the universal laws of its generation and to explain how original works are produced by using the old material and known procedures. But even if an idea is novel, novelty on its own may not mean much. For an invention to have good commercial potential, it needs to be a significant improvement on prior art.

Innovation is a new discipline born from the understanding and application of methods from several different areas, such as, design, business and social sciences. In my point of view, Innovation means changing the existing ideas or knowledge for the purpose of improvement. There are many conditions, knowledge and attitudes that have direct impact on building innovation competencies.

Key elements for an efficient innovation program of study are:

• Critical Discussion (condition) - Learn through criticism,  from others,  and also self-criticism.  This can be done through teamwork activities and presentation where critical debate is encouraged.
• Strategic Focus (knowledge) – Planning the designing process;  planning the activities through several class exercise involving game and student competition; and developed through research,  analytical and creative activities that reflect a general process of innovation.
• Dependence on Methods (knowledge attitude) – Trust in their methods and technique.  Therefore,  the innovative program should focus in research,  analysis and synthesis.
• Human-Centered  Approached (knowledge + attitude) – Success in their innovation is directly associated with the value it brings for people’ lives.  Therefore,  a successful program of study should include technique for accessing people’ needs.

INNOVATIONS INTRODUCED:

Driven by men turning gear cranks, which turn the wheels.

The dome is based on the shell of the turtle and helps to deflect enemy projectiles.

The Tanks supports a number of cannons.

Invention means “the act of finding out or inventing; contrivance or construction of that which has not before existed; as the invention of logarithms, the invention of the art of printing. (http://ardictionary.com/Invention/6704)
I think invention can be defined as creating new ideas using little knowledge which only created or invent by the inventor. There are some different between invention and innovation. As overall, innovation is the extension of invention or the process of improvement where begin.

Basically, that “Da Vinci Invention Tank” is invented by Da Vinci. The main reason of it’s creation is to be offered to a potential Patron as means of breaking enemies line in war and to minimize the number of causalities (of the side using the tank).  So invention is using some knowledge to create something new.
     

Lesson1 : Defining Creativity

creativity is all about the new, fresh and special.

it could be a new way of doing something, or generation a new idea.

many people had many different opinion.

they always thinking"i am not creative." They thought that being creative is hard. So, that they never try , they give up to think. 
Even some people thought there are only artist need to be creative, actually CREATIVITY is belong to everyone but not only domain to an artist or designer.
finally,problems are in our life to make it more difficult. 

maybe its really hard to be creative or maybe really only talented people more creative. But, talented people could only think faster but they doesn't meant to be better.

for me, i do believe that there are no talented or not talented.

at least we try our best, we do out part , always follow the flow, everything will be very fine.Do thing will fully arrangement.

i do had my way to been creative, such as i will love to draw mind mapping, do brainstorming and research. i did all this thing before i start any of my assignment,art work design, all this method do help me a lots.
Besides,its really very fun when I'm doing mind mapping and brainstorming. I could even found out many thing that i never expected i will think of. here! ideas all come along ^^ 

this make my thing neat and  full with content and design.


for me, what is creativity?
creativity is FRESH, is SPECIAL.
whenever we can think a fresh and special design, it would be very nice.
i do have my own-set-limit, i want to be special for my art work.
i hope my art works are sharp!




and, for the lesson one, i very agree with a sentence from lecturer.
"THE CREATIVE PEOPLE KNOWS THAT THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT."


There are always a improvement SPACE,if we creative. We can keep going with our creative and thinking.

How do we want to be creative?

 Look at artwork in galleries and museums. Read books and magazines. Use your senses and experience stimulates your memory and imagination.

Develop your skills.
- Skills build confidence so work to improve your techniques.

Make creative thinking a part of your daily life.
- Ask question. Vary routines. Do the unexpected. You feel more mentally alert.

Smash creative blocks.
- Change the problem or sneak up on it from a different direction. Try something fresh – a new way with an old theme.
